Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Is it just me or is the majority of Schlumberger employees represented on this website are either uneducated or idiots?

Having said that, I hope the people here are not representative of Schlumberger employees since I am interviewing with Schlumberger and I would want to work with people of higher caliber.

I don't want to be too specific since I want to stay anonymous. The position is for IT Project Management.

Im from the UK. I have a masters degree in mech eng. I am leaving SLB because they really just need technicians not clever people. They just want over qualified people to do the work and that's fair enough but I just felt brain dead. When you go on training trips and meet other employees from diff countries you will see how much of a con the company is for hiring graduates etc.

Yes. There are those of us who are educated professionals (I hold a Master's Degree in Geophysics) and then there are the others. I have left the company and oil voluntarily altogether, because my skill set can be utilized in other capacities. I'm enjoying my new job outside of the feast or famine world of oil.

Thumbs up on the analogy. This place does smell like a public bathroom.

Do youtube comments represent the intelligence of humanity? Does the graffitti on bathroom walls represent everyone who uses the room? If so this represents SLB employees.

Lol. Fing newbie. I still am employed. Don't get me wrong. I worked with idiots. But they knew what they needed to do to get the job done. Just because they dont know rocket science doesn't make them idiots to their job. So with that being said you don't have to know everything in the world to be good at your job. You just have to know how to fing do your job.

Who are you to judge Schlumberger employees education levels via the internet, why don't you take your high and mighty attitude and stick in your turkey. Why don't you take an internship with human resources department, I am sure they would love you king of all knowledge. This is a tough time for current and ex employees and no one wants to here your drivel.

Educated or not, schlumberger employees are the most unappreciated and mentally abused in the world. Do yourself a favor, take your education elsewhere. Forget Shlumberger. You'll thank me in the end.

Your education may be extremely limited, if you are trying to get a representation of Slb workforce, on this website.

Good luck. Brace yourself for arrogance just as yours, for the rest of your days.
