Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Why I am thankful today.

I am thankful for my new job and the opportunity to work on challenging projects again. I am thankful I have a boss who actually is trained in what I do and can offer input into what I do. I am thankful for no more micro breaks. I am thankful for no more epmps, forced rankings, and the need to find at least one or two things wrong with how I work. I am thankful for no more CAT training. I am thankful for no more project meetings with half the team missing it so the can go to their employee group meetings. I am thankful for getting out of a cubicle and back into an office. Most of all, I am thankful for the check I am going to get in two weeks.

I am thankful for whatever years of work I got with Chevron so far. I am not thankful for my current boss who is a narrow-minded, micromanaging, possibly-bigoted, immature, "unable to supervise highly qualified people", opinionated idiot!

I am greatful that Chevron has such mismanagement and corrupt HR policies. It has led to a steady stream of lawsuits for my firm and those specializing in labor law. The Horizons system alone is an open violation of blatant age discrimination. The PMP system statistics are damming along with the waves of ROMs that target those 40 and older. The HR staff and management have made Chevron a litigator's cash cow.

I'll add to that, 2hxa - Anytime the term "shareholder" is mentioned , some wannabe comes out and makes up a fictitiously high price that they supposedly sold all of their shares at. It's like clockwork - ROTFLMMFAOBOAY!!!!!

It's interesting that all a poster has to do on one of these threads is mention hard work and carrying your own weight and everyone gets a "why you picking on me?" attitude!! And you guys wonder why CVX needs to clean out their underwear of the dinkleberries?

1Up4 - You & your ilk are the reason I walked away. Bullies get away with too much at CVX. This board made me realize that I was not alone in my resentment of the jerks at work.

I cannot wait to cash my check, divest my pension & sell my company stock. No more a$$holes is my new motto.

I so thankful that I did the EOI and am now home relaxing with my family while still on the Chevron payroll til the end of the year. No more putting up with the office drama! No more compliance training, BBS observations to make up, no more PMPs and rankings especially watching someone in the Singapore office get a higher ranking (as if my boss even knew what they did there). Actually my boss didn't even know what I did in Houston, nor cared. So happy to be done!!!

1mpl on the contrary I have no resentment at all, I still work for chevron and am in a BU where the criteria is not dead weight but who the boss likes or is in love with. Everyday is a struggle as we watch really decent people getting sent home and rest of us are stressed knowing we might be next......luck you your BU has finished their cuts for us this will not stop for at least next year. Meeting ex Chevron colleagues who got their big redundancy pay checks aka lotto come early and start well paying new jobs leaving all this drama behind......1mpl and 1up4 can you really look in the mirror and lie we are better off........NO!!!!! those leaving us behind in the name of dead wood will accelerate their careers whilst the rest of us are stuck as the economy corrects itself!!!!! Who is better off those who stay or those who are let go...... well jury is out!!!!,

This was a pleasant thread until 1UP4 came along.

@1l6H, I have a strong sense that you were already tossed out of Chevron for being part of that so-called dead wood. You have a resentful tone that I've noticed here and in your other posts throughout the past few months. You will feel better when you stop visiting this website and decide to move on.

I'm thankful be making more and paying less for healthcare and for benefitting from a company based on merit, not nepotism. And thankful I sold all my CVX stock at $130 - $120.

And the remaining CVX employees and shareholders are sincerely thankful that another piece of dead weight has been lifted from the shoulders of the people who actually do work and will help to ensure decent future pay, pension, and benefits for those who actually work at CVX and are not whiney entitled millennial babies.
