Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Making and selling my lemonade from my lemons after my Qualcomm RIF and flight to Broadcom

Well,I never thought I'd be financially better off after I was RIFed from qualcomm and moved to broadcom a year and a half ago, but I think I'll be selling all my vested RSUs and ESPP that were priced around $24/share for $57/share today. That will make a nice $194,750 early christmas present for myself, minus the $50 commission from Merrill Lynch brokerage. Thanks Qualcomm for laying me off. I might not have a job next year after Avago buys us, but at least I can enjoy the rest of this year.

Op nice try. You won't be selling today at 57 there were no RSU priced that low and to get espp that low you are an old timer with much more than a couple hundred grand in espp. Or were you relating a dream you one had?

Good for you! Gee.... If more people post these happy ending stories after the RIF, QCOM may never be able to attract decent engineers unless they start paying top price--for a change. They've used the fact that San Diego's economy has generally been depressed compared to SF, LA, and SV to the company's financial advantage--for over 2 decades, now. It's about time they realized that it's not location, it's not even the industry that matters. It's expertise.
