there are multiple people in my building (well, at least 3 that i know of) that want Ben Carson as prez and Ted Cruz as VP.
People who want ideologues at that level are ideologues themselves. That means they have no ability to think outside of their narrow brain process, can not see different viewpoints even in an engineering perspective (i.e., innovation), and are stuck to things like nepotism, talking behind other engineers backs, and stealing work.
Lack of these cognitive abilities leads to stale products as nothing is invented or innovated - the same idea is rehashed.
These are the people that are bringing qcom down
