Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Anne Greenwald

Why are people who take psychiatric medication and drugs allowed to be in store leadership? It makes us uncomfortable that this woman tries to fire people constantly and then friend them on Facebook. I guess regional seriously doesnt care anymore

Your blanket comment concerning persons who are taking psychiatric medications is stigmatizing. Please educate yourself on the matter. Using the mental illness route to discredit someone's character is bad practice and hurts the entire mental health community. I don't know this person that you speak of and perhaps they may be a less than a delightful person, but if you want to get real, use real reasons why this person is such a jerk. This place is where you can vent, but try doing so without being disrespectful to an entire community of folks. I hope you see my point either today or someday down the road. Take care.

I agree, totally. Leaving EVN was like getting out of jail two years ago. I still cannot Stand to hang out there. A lot of TMs dated each other. The place was a ghost town last time I was there. Life goes on.

This gal has a NASTY reputation in MW!!! Dating someone in the company always spreads your business all over. Nice to know she is making friends out in Cali too. I once saw her reprimand a tm about ignoring customers, in front of a line of customers whom the tm was helping. Definitely all over the place mentally. Ups and downs.

I worked for an ASTL at Evn in the mdw who was clearly mentally ill. She's still there. Every day was a roller coaster of emotions. The energy in the store cause of her was erratic and unsettling. She was pregnant and smoking. Started all kinds of drama between tl and atl. She would voice to me her disdain for certain people in the store even leadership. She was very abusive. Whole foods did nothing and continues to do nothing. People would tell me who seemed to get along with her that they just pretended to do so so that she didn't come after them the way she does to others. She would broadcast her personal business to anyone that would listen. One day she spent an entire day updating anyone and everyone about the whereabouts of her husband who went out on some kind of drinking bender. Which I thought so odd in general but also extra weird cause her husband is a seafood team leader in the same region. How unprofessional can you get. She caused problems so she could be he one to seemingly fix them. It was super odd. I eventually left to go to another store because every time she would come to an aisle where I was working I was waiting for her to yell at me, tell me some inappropriate uncomfortable gossip about my fellow team members or leadership or would be back to the top of her cycling and be in a super happy ecstatic mood. It was setting to see someone so clearly in need of mental help. I work at another store now and whenever I tell people I came from this store the first thing they say is omg how did you deal with her. I feel bad for her and her poor husband who she has totally defamed throughout the company. Sadly they are kind of a joke. Whole foods doesn't care about mental health issues though. Anyway working under her was the worst 2 years of my life. I always felt bad for the guy astl there cause all she did was bad mouth him to regional leadership and put him down to us and tell us not to listen to him. And supposedly his brother is some regional guy. Can't believe it goes on.

Based off of what you've said... there isn't anything anyone could do. As long as she isn't on drugs at work or firing someone without cause (Whole Foods is an at will employer, but if she fired someone with poor motive, they can fight it), she isn't doing anything wrong. Requesting a former employee on Facebook isn't against any rules, and certainly isn't severe or pervasive. If she is on doctor prescribed psychiatric drugs... that's HIPPA... nothing Whole Foods can do. And if that is the case, there's nothing she can do about it, so it is poor form to make that part of your argument.

Sorry, not trying to knock down the original poster. You may have very valid reasons to have beef with her (I have no idea who she is), but I'm just saying, she isn't really breaking any rules.

If this bothers anyone they should go downtown and file a Cease & Desist Contact letter and have it delivered to her.
