I wonder what this settlement will be. We'll probably just cut another $250M check and go on about our business. CHK might be the only company which actually has to budget lawsuit damages into the CAPEX budget.

Yep. The millions being settled is for the sins of the past = AKM and his band of merry crooks who screwed land holders over, filled their personal pockets, lived large and left an over leveraged company. FACT.

Read the "Prayer for Relief" in the final pages of this complaint. PA requests all activities by CHK be ceased until all the landowners and the State are made whole, and all penalites are paid. Wow! If every State that CHK has a lawsuit did this... CHK would definitely be in a world of hurt more than they are now.
