Culinary used to be strong at AIP. They are down to 1 full time instructor. Faculty is mostly gone - adjuncts hanging in there for the money you can tell they don't like their jobs - and students leaving in droves. More sign up and even more leave. It's done. Directors are jokes and the dean isn't there and likely couldn't name the faculty in the building. It's pathetic. Done.

It shouldn't be assumed that EDMC has the credit for a long term lease. Back in the day they owned buildings. They have not turned a profit in many years despite the millions coming in each month.

Any reason to keep the move a secret? The Boulevard of the Allies building is known to have an end date.

My understanding is that EDMC rents 1300 and 1400 Penn but the leasing costs should be significantly lower than those at AiP Blvd of the allies. It must be 10,000+ sq ft that is being worked on now with "no known tenants" but the work has gone on for months. I can't imagine why kitchens, labs, classrooms, etc couldn't be configured into the space.

Does EDMC own the 1400 Penn Avenue building?

EDMC and wise business move doesn't fit. Would the space house kitchens for culinary and all the needs for design programs?

Why the big mystery of 1400 Penn avenue building demolition which has gone on for months? Many CS and AiOHE staffing is in the same building so could it be possible that AiP classrooms will now be housed there too? Many of us have asked building contractors who the new tenants are and the answer is vague at best. This could be a wise business move?

They are trolling tech schools for students out of desperation and trying to have "Get Creative" classes for high school students. Spending silly money and paying salaries for dead end marketing. Expect those positions to go soon. Also, the new initiative cut tuition - too little to late when all KKR wants is some profit back. The CEO is getting the ducks in a row to sell off. Yes, AIP will close when the lease is gone so it AIP.

Students do not have to finish online. As I've said before... seen this happen many times with many schools and trying to force students to go online backfires every time.

AIP can't keep instructors. Even adjuncts are leaving this term. The environment is horrible. No one wants to work there and it shows. Good people but it really isn't worth investing your time into a sinking ship. Most of the instructors with advanced degrees are gone.

Etz so where will the new Aip campus be located? You really believe edmc will have a teach out because it is the ethical thing to do? Name an educator in a management position in Pittsburgh. The dean is never there, the directors are pawns and the president is corporate scum. Faculty is pretty much gone except those getting paid $$$ to just show up. You can't rebound a "college" without educators. The new CEO has a background in selling off companies.... Hmmmmm

They can force students to finish online. If they were going to move they would have a location by now. They are not even looking.

WRONG! When students hear teach out, they run in hordes because of the facts that are out there. You actually need to have been thru this a few times to know how it works. Been at three schools where this happens... it is happening and it is closing sooner than later! KKR will be dropping EDMC sooner than you think.

They will still teach out existing students. Won't just close when the lease is up. Think this through before putting out these wild ideas.

Aip will close when the brand folds. The building lease is up in just over a year. Can't see edmc investing in a whole new location.

A little birdie said sooner than later. Don't let the upper management fool you into believing this place is on the rebound. They are going to string along the employees just as bad as they had the students.
