Thanks for your well-wishes, 1muw. Yes, I'm enjoying my retirement. Having had 27 years with Chevron was a good run. I had hoped to put in 4 more years at least and reach 62 years of age to start collecting an early social security check. But all is well with me. And like 2icg said, the program is called Bridges. I enrolled in the Bridges program a few days before I left the office. I may or may not come back to Chevron. It depends on how I feel about it later. May you and everyone else find your own best path within your careers and in retirement.

with 27 years in Chevron you were probably pretty close to retirement anyway and with your 1+ year of severance and pension you should be glad you are out of here. I would gladly accept a package if I were in your situation. If you had retired you would have not gotten the severance. Enjoy retirements, travel, etc. You can always come back as a highly paid consultant on the ex-employee consultant program, whatever it is called.
Thank you for the persecution, victimization for not being from the local BU area, bias and bigoted ePMP and total lack of accountability for workplace harassment that was manipulated by team leads and HR in to blaming the person attacked? That would be one summary, znh.........its called the Chevron Way.
I was laid off and am grateful to Chevron for the severance plan, 6 months of subsidized medical and the excellent pension plan. I'm fortunate to have worked with Chevron for 27 years and was grateful for the excellent salary they always paid. On the other side, I am ungrateful for the way I was selected to be the one to leave. I'm sure it came down to my workgroup's manager who had already planned on retiring anyway. He took the route chosen by BCG. Many of my colleagues told me I got a raw deal because of my age.
