Not everybody is bad in this company. I have seen and experienced some very generous and admirable things. I have seen this company do things for people that they did not have to. They gave money and resources for employees to keep there jobs and relocate when they very easily could have laid them off. Somebody in the upper management cares and does what they can for employees. A company is just like life away from work, There is good people and bad. We are ConocoPhillips.
The pro ConocoPhillips responses are embarrassing at best. Odd the site is a layoff site but the pro ConocoPhillips members encourage positive messages. A layoff is not a good thing for future reference. The posts are via a variety of individuals. No one individual could produce such a variety of posts. I was involved in the layoffs and am angry as the layoff was in response to an ethics complaint focused on the supervisor. The ethics process served as nothing more than an opportunity for the company to collect information to support the supervisor. The trust hurts. People are angry. People have good reason to be angry.
There are a handful of repeat angry, ridiculous ugly posts, even though they are anonymous, they are the same person. The Troll Monger is one of them who thinks everything he says is fact and he is always right, resorts to colorful, ugly descriptive name calling when anyone provides solid opposition to what he just spouted off. He's a joke - I enjoy it when people call him out - he needs to leave quietly

COP employees have the worst entitlement attitude I've ever seen. People complain so much about management but it seems like the people at the bottom are just as bad. Maybe they should just lay people off every year so you don't have a bunch of 30 year people who don't understand the concept of an at will employment agreement.
When you spout a bunch of bullshit about SPIRIT values and then conduct layoffs in the most contradictory manner possible, people get angry. Nothing wrong with layoffs, just handle them in a decent manner.
