194067 I call BS! It MAY be possible that some mid-level supervisor covered up a spill or incident to cover his/her incompetency, but the S2 management does not and never did condone that! If you've been laid off, it's probably because you were caught in an unethical act yourself. Go ahead, prove me wrong!

@189527, 188913 is refrencing the culture at Surmont 2. I saw this a few times first hand as they would pressure contractors to "not report" the more serious incidents. As long as you have the 1L spills and report the minor stuff everything is fine. The majority of the incidents that are more serious in nature are covered up, driven under the rug, and covered up. If someone gets barely injured, they send them home on days off. No vehicle accidents either. It's an absolute joke. Once you realise how crooked everyone is there, it will make sense.

The drunk manager was at a recent golfing event . He was making very inappropriate comments to the women and was all over the poor HAL female rep. Pretty disgusting.

Look, do not talk to HR about an issue you have with a supervisor or manager. Their sole function is to gather information about the situation and relay that back to the supervisor. Then they help determine how to discredit the employee who entered the complaint, and use the layoffs to remove these employees. I was one who trusted and brought a complaint to HR about being harassed by my supervisor. HR asked three other female employees if they had the same sexual harassment feeling from this supervisor. I was released (fired) in May. Two of the other three women were fired during the latest layoff round. And only one remains employed, I think, maybe they got her to. Suspicious???? Those are the facts, what do you think? Bottom line, do not talk to HR, get your own legal representation.

Contractor threatened with termination for reporting safety issue. Management did not want to admit to the safety issue and told the contractor the information was not provided in the proper format and threatened to terminate the contractor. The contractor retracted the report and the safety number remained in good order.

To (Anonymous188439) who was that manager? What was the event? Did the drunk manager do anything unethical besides just drink a little too much. You are probably being too hard on him.

Recently, a Manager at a field event got so drunk that someone had to be assigned to him to follow him and make sure he did not fall in the pool and drown. What a shining example to set for your team!! And to make matters worse, this was not the first time this happened.

How about earlier this year in L48 when the 3 Business Unit managers were all promoted to Executive VPs. I am sure a hefty raise and additional incentives came along with this. Then soon after, all promotions for everyone else were frozen. What kind of message did this send to the peons? I am sure the EVPs did not lose sleep over that.

Are you kidding!!!!! Look at Eagle Ford Drilling. What a shame that a company like COP would let the Leesville crew run things like it does. It just goes to show you what type of leadership they have up in Houston running this circus. It's an embarrassment! If COP does sell off the Gulf Coast business unit like the rumors say they are, it would be beneficial for the buyer to get rid of all this crap and bring in new leadership, along with all the other supervisors this crew brought in with them. By the way, is that chubby, bald headed roamer still around? The one that had jacked up dirty-stained teeth and looks like a damn retard. Or, did he get layed off? He had no business representing a so called top notch oil company.

Supervisor in Bartlesville coordinating after work hours meet and greet with vendors at the local restaurants sponsored by vendors. The supervisor (male) would get drunk and hit on the presenters (female). All in all rather embarrassing for the co-workers and the vendors. I told the supervisor the actions were not appropriate and so was no longer on the invite list. The situation repeated a number of times before upper management finally stepped in and stopped the "meet and greets". No longer being invite list did have its privileges as I did make the "4 or 5" on the performance review list.

Affairs with the boss to get a promotion. Happened a few times in Oil Sands. It really annoyed the women who were professional that the women who used unethical means did actually get ahead.

Making sure everyone on the COST team has jobs even with positions they are not qualified for. But in order to accomplish this, they had to lay off folks that were in those jobs. Bakken, Eagleford, any others you know of????

To 187437 post. You say you must have been sheltered. Your a naive dumb shit. Your one of the complacent worthless clowns who does what she/he is told and never think about efficiency and effectiveness. The fact that you can remember a name "gorilla" in multiple posts means one of two things. 1). Your life is so f***ing boring you read this site. 2) you are a HR representative attempting to reduce the traffic on this website. Eat shit and piss off.

Some of these posts can't be taken serious because they have to start name calling..like six foot gorilla which Is not the first post I have seen this in, but the rest of these posts are really concerning...Obviously my career at CoP has been very sheltered, heads down work.

Managers that cant keep confidential matter quite about direct employees, exposed ratings and also revealing individuals on layoff list. Employees knowing your fate before you do, because a manager couldn't shut his trap. Gossip spreading douche bag with a mini me sidekick.

And I would be one of those "4 or 5" employees. The manager noted a desire to create a slot for the female employee he was having an affair with. Odd to receive letters of recommendation from the VP and a low rating from the immediate manager.

The entire ranking process. This is supposed to be based on the employee's work vs. grade. Not from what I've seen. It's all about manager favorites. I have seen people get promoted right before the rankings. These people are not supposed to be eligible to get 1s and 2s since they were rewarded with the promotion. But since they are manager favorites, they got both the promotion and the 1 or 2. Never mind the other employees that may have deserved that 1 or 2 instead.

In Bakken, resource/reserve volumes were inflated to be more 'in-line with Eagleford'.

In Bakken, type curves were inflated to cover up a bad decision by the development manager, who didn't want to admit he was wrong.

Sexual harassment by a supervisor. Complaints were filed with HR from 3 employees. HR interviewed these employees. The asset manager "didn't want to hear about it". Two of these employees were laid off. Retaliation????

United Way: list of employees who did/didn't give were sent around to the supervisors in Permian to pressure those employees into giving. I would rather give to a charity of my choice.

Male information technology supervisor having an affair with a female contractor. An ethics report resulted in a more discrete affair, lunch at the same time but one turned left and the other turned right but both met at the same place. Or perhaps the lack of an ethic department would be a good example of unethical offerings at ConocoPhillips.

The dumbest Head of Trading in the industry. Audit the shit.. You will see daily var numbers of 50k and then daily loses exceed 2 million on one single day. Go check out the ERCOT power book. It happened this year. Clown show.
