So who do you think will be our new master?

INTC, Huawei, Samsung, or AAPL?

QCT is basically worthless to a buyer if they have to pay QTL royalties with every chip as well as make a profit on the silicon and software.

Anyone thinking of buying QCT needs substantial concessions on IP costs, or a way to step out most our ask QC IP from the product, which of course hurts QCL, but JANA will likely be able to dump their holding before the fall.

From technology stand point, how QTL can survive by itself as patents will expire and competition will heat up? You can't have bunch of lawyers running it independently

QTL will do leveraged buyout of QCT, thereby cockblocking shareholder value

I would guess QCT would fetch less than 10B. I know not much. QTL is much more valuable because once they are sold off the buyer no longer has to pay Q royalties and they can extract more licensing fees. A huge NY hedge fund is eyeing them.

when you net out capex and employment separation packages QCT is worth much much less. You can not just buy them and shut off the lights. Lots of hungry mouths have to be fed before they can be sent to pasture.

In my opinion, QTL without QCT will have tough time to survive in the long term, as it will be bunch of patents that may become obsolete in the long run.

QCT value is much lower than QTL. Based on earning, QCT is only worth about $30B, which is a good deal for Intel. Intel can turn a $4B loss into net profit, albeit, QCT margin is much less than Intel’s.

Huawei is funded by the chinese govt just like the US subsidizes the auto industry. I doubt the feds would allow them to buy QCT or QTL although they have unlimited $$ so anything is possible. They already put Mot and Nok out of business.

INTC will buy QCT and quietly put them to rest.

The new master is likely Huawei. Why? Huawei has figured out how to get into US market by buying its way in.
