Hello All - I wanted to see if anyone had information about possible layoffs and plant closing at Kraft/Heinz - I hear that a number of plants may be closed in 2016 and I am not sure if this is just a rumor or if there is some substance to it. I know that this is not the best place for finding rock solid information, but even a rumor might be useful now

As a Lehigh Valley employee this is something we've seen coming. With a 1 million sqft facility and only 3 small departments (A1/Grey Poupon, Single serve pods and tassimo t disks) it was a matter of time. I am angry as a third shift employee that i had to find out from the media outlets.

New management at KHC is good at holding info very close to the vest but the rumor is that a total of 7 plants - the 3 NY plants, Fresno, Lehigh Valley + 2 Meat plants (Madison & Kirksvlle?) will be closed. 6 to 12 months time for the transition of business to other plants.
The local politicians and state politicians always claim that there are monetary ways to
avert plant shut downs. These three New York plants haven't shown enough yearly growth
for Warren Buffet and his associates. That's the major reason for the shut downs. Politicians
can say what they want by giving future tax cuts but it's the stagnation in the business growth
that'll doom these plants. Don't forget that the Campbell plant had a huge recall on their string
cheese last year. Kraft recalled 735,000 cases of the affected string cheese products. The departmental
managers and foreman should have been fired for this costly mistake alone. Kraft can't financially
come back on a pricey gaffe that was fore mentioned.
Is Fresno a for sure done deal? Does anyone know percentages or time frame?
Are any other California plants on the chopping block besides Fresno rtd?
So Garland and Granite City would supply RTD in the West?
