Excellent article. The only thing I would have added is that the layoffs were a cover for the elimination of gain-sharing. Of course it hasn't officially been eliminated but the labor budget has been lowered so drastically that it is all but impossible to achieve anymore. This war on the labor budget has been going on for a few years now, so much so that I and several of my co-workers have been making less money year over year due to reduced gain-sharing and despite receiving raises. Thus, they give with the right hand and take back with the left. Paying people less year over year is what management calls achievement.

Company trolls are posting on that article... They're very easy to spot because they take this accusatory, sarcastic tone. Obviously there is concern that the article is reaching a broader audience. Two thumbs way up. Fantastic piece. Please read and share with everyone you know. The schadenfreude the author described has me celebrating as the stock price hits fresh 52-lows. The layoff isn't working as intended, because the laid-off workers AREN'T the problem. They're the solution to the problem!

That article is perfect. I found myself nodding and smiling at each paragraph. It's a shame what the company has become. It's also refreshing to hear my own thoughts and feelings written out so clearly and completely.
