Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

BofA Rated exceeds/exceeds yet let go to downsize. My two peers were kept due to their protected status. Something called accommodated.

I have seen the diversity & inclusion pendulum swing both ways. It seems lately it has been based on how many boxes you can check next to a person's name versus actual skill set, contribution or results. Sometimes the highest performers are the most expensive and therefor candidates for eliminations. BAC is well on it's way to reducing expenses but also losing some of their best talent which will have a longer term effect.

sing it sister, you hit the nail on the head. Only protected status I see is Indian origin. Just start paging through corporate connection profiles, european surnames are very much becoming the exception. As for protected each other also spot on. They club it up big time. Inclusion and diversity is a joke. Then they blame it on their national background, they just can't help themselves since it is built into their heritage. Well, what if the US native tries to claim similar their heritage hinders their ability to be inclusive. You know where that would land you - one way ticket out the door

If you are Indian and if your boss is Indian, you are totally safe. They never go after each other, it does not matter how bad or good you are. Also, 50% of them are related, they find jobs for each other. It's not an Indian issue, it's kind of an immigrant issue,, they stick together and help each other, it's all good. But it pisses me off when I am hurt but the process, in my group (CS) there was 22 of us, there were 7 Indian folks and an Indian manager, 7 folks were let go in September but no Indians were cut. Now we have 14 folks, 7 are Indian. how is this possible. look at it from the probability perspective, it's impossible.

Protected status, what is that? sounds like pro football. are these franchise players? Hard to make reason out of some of the selections over past few months. Talent and capability certainly does not protect a job anymore, and even pay grade of those chosen sometimes makes you raise your eyebrows. The rumor from Wed. in our world was these were not performance layoffs they were due to downsizing mandates. Not sure what that means. Maybe with downsizing, they carefully select first based on demographics with a side order of performance. One thing is for sure, seasoned caucasian male is still the demographic of choice to be whacked. Only thing we can be reasonably sure of at this point is 10/30 was not the last cuts for this place. They are on a roll and seem to be enjoying it
