I stand by my original point, if you can deter new students from even getting started there then it shuts of the spigot of loan money. Think practically, some art student walks up and sees a sign about taxes they continue facebooking on their smartphone. I consider myself reasonably educated and I would ignore that sign because I find protesters/crusaders to be extremely self-righteous and pretentious. My opinions aside, your sign has to simple and eye-catching. If I was about to tour my prospective college and someone had a piece of paper (let alone a poster board) that said "ART INSTITUTE = SCAM, GOOGLE IT", even if I don't believe him, it's as simple as closing facebook and opening safari to type in 20 letters. The floodgates open there. At that point if they continue on at least they have the facts and can't play the babe in the woods routine.

You will get more sympathy if you point out to other people its not just your problem but theirs too. How do you do that? TAXES!! People hate when their tax money is wasted and most are probably totally oblivious how much The Fart Institute used tax money for government loans. Most people assume a For-profit is run like a self sufficient business and dont realize 90% of their income comes from government tax money. It's kind of ironic, most of those guys at the top are probably Republicans screaming about less government and less hand out yet they have the biggest hand out of all. They could not survive without it.

Most of this doesnt make sense without the students knowing the back story. sign = "Google search: EDMC Scam" or "Google Search: (insert school name) scam". If they don't have the gaul to ask you directly what it means it's as simple as pulling their phone out of their pocket and typing it in.

HannaFromAtlanta I think the stock price is relevant. No need to insult the poster. KKR and being off the stock exchange is important knowledge to pass along to people who know nothing of EDMC. EDMC wasn't always a penny stock... how it got there is part of the story.

All this is great, but to the point of "you knew how much the piece was when you signed up" bit. When I enrolled in Jan. 2006, Goldman Sachs had not bought the school yet, and my projected total was $30,000 cheaper. When Goldman Sachs took over latter that year, they announced a tuition increase. I signed paperwork citing a tuition lock-in. So, the take over by Sachs created bigger problems.

Make a poster of EDMC CEO/executive salaries and $$$ spent on marketing - this is where your tuition money goes! It does not go to full time professors, equipment, training, research or facilities.

Talk about how many full time faculty members they let go! Don't bash adjuncts but how they treat faculty isn't about education! Credits don't transfer!
It isn't sexy but getting the word out about the arbitration clause would be huge. Also the 11B lawsuit. Even current students don't know about these issues! I empathize with the huge debt you have at graduation but you did know the cost when you signed up so maybe focus on interest rates or even copies of bills with names removed. Show the staggering numbers to the debt. Keep to facts. I'll let others come up with slogans. The AIs are hitting hard for GI money and even have military hang out rooms for students. These students are being very pro-AI since they are using GI bills they don't have the debt issue and frankly they are treated like royalty and have a dutiful military attitude. Maybe speak to the students who are working the open houses and promoting the school. Keep it respectful and proofread all the signs! EDMC=AI=Argosy+Brown... people don't know EDMC
