There has been a rumor that Chevron is cutting all office contractors. Is there any truth to this?

190152 I second that motion. CBRES pads every bill. They are on the same PSG level as real engineers! Facilities and operations do the same job. Shut down the Pitney/Bowes copy centers. The real world is going paperless.
CVX should instead get rid of the entire CBRES organization. Very costly inefficient setup.
No brainer...all contractors will be cut...
Not all contractors will be cut. I doubt that even 50% will go. Practically all of the contractors do more work and get things done for Chevron than employees do. If the company cuts too many contractors, the quality of work will suffer.
All contracters in CBRES are indeed being cut.
Yes, most all contractor positions are being cut in some departments.
I am a contract employee and will have my contract renewed for another 6 months at the end of the year. At least I know in advance when my last day might happen. Some contractors are just overhead 'fluff' and some actually perform an important function. No different than regular full-time employees. I have been wondering for mamny months when the 'Big One' will happen, and now we all know. Welcome to 1986 for all you who are too young to remember.
Yes. The PRC gravy train of hiring a staggering number of contractors is over
If you are in the Horizon's program, doesn't matter what you do.
Hopefully. They need to go.
It's a matter of time and employees need to get off the lazy wagon and do some work developing useful skills
