Halliburton is waiting for Baker to totally collapse and be on it's knees before calling off the deal. Baker will be too weak then and it will be easy pickings for anyone to get. Baker will completely disintegrate which was always Halliburton's intent to destroy Baker.

Why would anyone in their right mind invest in the oil service business??? If you had dollars to invest in the stock market would you choose a secure blue chip company that increases in value and pays dividends, or an oilfield service company that is losing money, pays no dividend, and operates in a shrinking market? It makes no sense...

Australia isn't a sovereign country. Much like Canada, they are s protectorate of the English monarch. Queen Elizabeth has dissolved the Australian parliament and dismissed it's prime minister 4 times in her reign as Queen of the British empire. Nothing Australia or Canada ever says or does will ever have any substance unless The brtistish monarch supports it.

F all you big red morons who think you are better than anyone! Truth is you can't compete at schlumbergers level but need new ideas and baker (or so you think) will get you there. Engineers and kiss asses who somehow made it to the top made sure THEY RAN BAKER TO THE GROUND! There's plenty of us hard workers who has dedicated our lives to a stupid company who is led by a bunch of fin PUPPETS!! And all for what? And yeah you probably are right about laying us off... But here's something to think of...demand for oil is not increasing by any means AND YOURE TIME WILL COME!!

No. It's very alive and well. We will take over BHI and layoff most of you. The news is just speculation from short-term investors who try to make couple of bucks.
