For FTE’s probably not significant, however T-Mobile recently and quietly started implementing a 1 year on / 4 month off policy for all contractors at FSC and Canyon Pointe facilities across the board. The claim is that this has always been the policy but it was not ever discussed or enforced so it came to a great surprise for a number of workers who were already well over the 1-year threshold and just in time for the 2015 holidays. The enforcement started at the beginning of November 2015 and should peak sometime in December/January 2015. They are being very discreet about this policy, even internally, but it has the potential to affect thousands of workers in the Puget Sound area in the very near term and should expect to continue throughout 2016 as workers start to reach their 1-year limit. T-Mobile is heavily dependent on contingent staffing for a large number of roles in both EIT and Corenet so expect FTE’s to have substantially elevated workloads to counter the large loss of talented and experienced workers. As a former contractor of 1 year and 3 months at T-Mobile I have firsthand experience and knowledge of the implementation of this policy. Exceptions are and will continue to be extremely limited.
