Going into Thanksgiving my store has half as many shifts as last year. Fresh product is sitting in the back and shelves are empty because of labor cuts. We are getting rid of hard working people at the bottom making $12 an hour only to lose 10x that much in sales on the floor. The people in charge are completely out of touch with the day to day operations of working in a grocery store. Most haven't worked a retail shuft in years or decades. We need talented hard working people to not only stock eggs but be able to talk about the differences between cage free and pasture raised. My team leaves each day sore and tired. This job is blue collar manual labor run by leadership who views us as mindless drones. Until the company switches its model to support the hard working people actually in the stores sales will continue to plummet. Five of my best coworkers have quit in the past month and many more are looking for something else. Eliminate bloated high paying regional and coordinator jobs and support the people on the front line actually making the sales for you. Simple minded leadership has been and will continue to ruin this company. I'm working on my resume now and I thoolught I'd work this job my entire life. You are losing people you can't replace that will hurt your bottom line for years to come while only focusing on the next sales quarter.

These are great points but people. please see that this has been done deliberately . mackey is just a pon is a sense as being the front man for the blame to these. the reason the top is heavy is because they are the ones creating these horrible chain of events. they are the lackeys so to speak. its to destroy the quality of life for everyone. humans are slaves and we are complicit in our slavery because we are in denial about or current condition and because we don't want to do what is necessary to get out of it. and that is becoming conscious. and saying no to all that is WRONG and evil.
This is so true. The regional scumbags, and a lot of the Tl's as well should get the axe.
Same story in MW region. Luckily I managed to be off the day before Thanksgiving when they had enough people. A friend told me they now get 9 to 10 hour shifts due to all the staff cuts.
So true! Regional Greed has caused this. They are so out of touch. In the NE Region everyone is overworked and miserable. I am so happy I got let go! It is a toxic working environment...
The issue in a nutshell. It is truly amazing how utterly out of touch leadership is - laughably so - at least in the SW. It blows one's mind.
