I'm going slower what are they going to do……lay me off, fire me? Maybe, ha ha! I don't care. I am the only one they have in my area going into the holidays. Good luck with that I laugh in your faces. Going to just take it in stride and laugh. If customers/guests are pissed that things are going slow or they are having to wait forever for help not my fault and i am not going to go at a break neck speed to delight and satisfy them they need to call corporate and complain or go shop somewhere else because I do not give a damn. WF is not going to work me too death. PERIOD. NO, I can not do that it is only me over here and I do not have the labor to do it or the time and stop calling me on the phone! I do not have time to tell you every price and every item that I have I am to damn busy. So, I will just tell you NO I do not have it.

HEY "THE CAT" proof-read......you moron. ANYWAY, @195767 everything you said is/was my life at WFM...EVERYTHING. You hit the nail on the head. I worked my ass off to "move-up" nobody trained me, I had no write ups in 3 years.....etc....etc

THE MOTHER-FINGER-BANGERS ON THIS BOARD, WHICH BY THE WAY IS CALLED "THE LAY OFF" WHO TRY TO DISCREDIT THE LEGITIMATE BLIND-SIDE TERMINATIONS OF EMPLOYEES WHO YES, DID CARE ABOUT WFM AND DID THEIR JOBS EXEEDING WELL, SHOULD KINDLY STOP TROLLING OR BETTER YET SUCK MY HAIRY SALTY NURTS

To the idiot, 195745, who stated that 'two people were doing the job of one', before the lay-offs, you are clueless. And you probably work in a low-volume store , no doubt.

I worked in the MA region, on a store level, where I slowly saw more and more exploitation of workers, year-after-year! I could not believe all the hats I was expected to wear, along with my fellow team mates, and keep sales-up! When I got let go as a buyer ( and believe me, I took option one, happily) I felt sorry for the dept team mates who now had more to do, let alone were not even trained in ALL that I did do. And do you know why??!!!! Because I had to train MYSELF!!!!That's right. It took a year's learning curve. I enjoyed the challenge, mother f***er. I learned a lot, and believe me I'm taking that knowledge elsewhere. I stepped into that role for ten months, WITHOUT a raise, the biggest mistake I have ever made at a job.BUT that's what WFM does, it's known among the folks who USED to work there. In fact, reps would walk through the door ( former employees ) telling me all about it. It's been going for years. And after time went on, they kept putting more and more on me, with no real leadership and total lack of communication was to blame within the store. I never bothered to speak-up, you know why???...because EVERYONE in my dept was in the same boat. And I had been there long enough to know that leadership was going to do nothing about it. Just like with everything else.. .they would come-by nit pick, and offer zero solutions. In the end, I was doing the work of TWO AND A HALF people! That is what. WFM does, exploit you, and does NOT properly TRAIN you. I was known as a hardworking person among my store. They had nothing on me, and I never complained, I just took it, as exhausted as I was. I even contemplated going PT the last few months, because of how wiped-out I was every day. Working FT, and hardly EVER getting two days off in a row, is NEVER healthy for anyone either. I'm enjoying severance, I EARNED IT. I'm gladly looking forward to going someplace, where I know I'll be better appreciated. The most valuable asset I learned working for WFM : never take the abuse again. When you know you are worth more, you WILL find better. Fear is the only thing that stops us from receiving better. Thanks, for teaching me that lesson food-hole. And 195549, don't feel bad about not completing your daily tasks, because it's impossible in that place! I too cared, I cared too much. Don't waste your precious energy in environment that is clearly soul-sucking. They don't care about caring employees....you are not a person, you are cattle.

The post said that one person is now doing the job of one person.Prior to the layoffs two people were doing the job of one. Read carefully. This lack of detail is likely why your lazy asses are out of a job. I like mine and my store is fine without the deadbeats that were let go

To the two idiots below who said the stores are running fine now with one person doing two persons jobs...well you are both idiots!! I was a buyer and I know for a fact that my old team is suffering because of this, their morale has been sucked up, running ragged, no more enjoyment, we all feel like we were seperated like children in a nasty divorce!! And I know that STL's only get store bonus when they are not in the red and currently only one or two stores in the NA region that is doing well enough to receive this! So you must both be regional with some made up metric to back up a bold claim like that! WFM died on September 23, 2015!! It may have been on life support for a while but time of death was at 1pm that Friday when the conference calls came!! I hope my former bro and sisters in arms will be offered a severance in the upcoming layoffs, and I hope no layoffs at all, but the state of the company an the stocks are pointing to a buyout!!'

I encourage everyone to do everything as slowly as possible. It's called a slowdown...and if everyone just does it there's nothing management can do about it. That's what management gets for raising the stock dividend (totally irresponsible), then borrowing a billion dollars so they can buy more stock on the open market to hand out to the executives. It's outrageous at a time when you're asking the workers to do more with less and take pay cuts. F&^% you. When we take a haircut, management needs to step up and take a haircut too. The captain should go down with the ship, not run it aground abandon ship and hop on a yacht back to shore.

195378 and 195490 you must be in leadership or regional. The truth out weighs the lies. The TM are over worked all over the country. I was happy to be eliminated. And yes I am a college graduate, worked my organic ass off, and was not Valued. I am not bitter at all because the truth really does set you free! It is evident that you are both a minority. I would agree that working in a toxic environment is cause to get out fast! So to all of you who are fed up don't think that WFM is the only job you can get. Get another job fast because you will be worker harder then ever! Honestly don't wait until after the Turkey Trots! GET OUT NOW! Best of luck....you can find a more satisfying job where you will be appreciated. I LOVE MY NEW JOB!

It makes me sad every day that I'm doing a bad job. No matter how hard I work or how late I stay, the department looks bad. This is all to do with not having enough people on staff anymore. There are only so many cases you can stock in a shift and only so many orders that can be placed. If a truck is late or there is a call off, there is no making that up anymore. Everyone is working over 100% and getting worn down.

I go in, work as hard as I can and then go home. Its impossible to get everything done now. I use to love my job and now its just something that pays the bills.

@195378 @195490- I am one of the many who now does the job of two. When they told me I'd be taking on another section, I replied that I could only if I have the tools and support I need. I go back and forth, deciding which tasks I must do and which can wait. I can never do it all. It works okay as long as nothing else goes wrong: no call outs, no missed shipments etc. Well things are going wrong now. We're not even close to the holidays and I know I wont be able to catch up before then. So I will do what I can with the tools and time I have, and the rest will have to wait. I am sure they will eventually try to write me up sooner or later, and I will remind them of what I said. So back to your "work harder" premise. We on the ground know what can be done and what we need to do it. Those above us do not because they are not on the ground. And their decisions will continue to weigh on our stores and lower our sales. Period. It will only get worse.

Be grateful if you were not affected by the Lay offs... You now have to step up and work hard? That's why it's called WORK...Get it done, or leave the company so someone who does want to earn their keep can...

So playing sick helps what? Walking out helps what? You guys need a reality check. While some stores have suffered for sure, most are operating just fine now that one person does the job of one person-not two doing the job of one.Entitled team members are just as much to blame for cutbacks. How long did you really think your lazy habits and apathy would go on? Customers are still coming and after the first week I have not heard any complaints that are due to less staffing. No mass walkouts have happened,no big union campaigning going on..except on this forum. Why is hard work such a bad thing?..where else would you have made the money you have made to this point? No place..that is why you were at WFM.

The team members still at the stores do not miss you..they were doing your job anyway,,,now you are gone...no difference.Good riddance to you...grow up,move on-as you say you are...this forum will not help you get a new job...the severance was more than fair,,,the shelves are not empty, moral is ok and getting better..appreciate what you have,,,all the negativity does not get your job back nor get you a new one....the problems are gone now that you are

you know what......reading all of the comments to this post says a lot. I say let's really hold true to these comments. If enough of us DON'T jump through hoops for the holidays, when they NEED us, at least we might get a little self respect. In fact......I feel a cold coming on....no wait.....I think it's pneumonia! Whose got paid sick days left?

How about the fact that Seafood now has to order product, maintain, pack out, rotate and warehouse for Grocery without getting sales? Who thought this was a good idea? If seafood couldn't maintain its own displays we'd be held accountable. Ridiculous.
