The Northeast Region Is A Joke

All the NE cares about is money, money, money! STL's are allowed to interpret the rules to benefit them and their friends and bullying in the stores is real. I've seen beyond incompetent TL's badger good TM's just for speaking their minds and then that person can't even go to the STL because they're friends with said TL. How can a TM believe in the so called "Open Door Policy" when the STL will go back and gossip about everything the TM told them. Yes, gossip. Leadership are some of the biggest gossips in the stores, spreading people's personal business and openly mocking others. Christina and Paula promote a culture of favoritism and fear, they're like dictators walking around making everyone tell them how wonderful it is to work there when people are just afraid to say openly how bad it's gotten in the NE. Nothing will change in the NE until those two Pol Pots are thrown from power.

Gotta love the recent South region locations... smack dab in the middle of pork rind and Mountain Dew country and in the case of Jackson, MS and Mobile, AL as far away as possible from our other stores and the warehouse. This is what happens when you put someone in charge who doesn't understand the South. We needed to be opening stores in every part of Atlanta and its suburbs, more stores in Raleigh area and in South Charlotte and Concord and instead this moron chooses fundamentalist yay-hoo backwaters like Augusta, GA etc. This is the classic Walmart and Family Dollar crowd -- grape soda and honey buns. But of course, you can't tell these regional blowhards anything because they are the retailing genius. Was anyone held accountable for these bad locations? Nope. Hell, three of these SO locations have fast food joints right in the parking lots!

SO region here. They like to talk about "Southern Hospitality" but working there is like shoveling sh*t at a Southern Plantation! They routinely make more errors before 8am then most of us do in a lifetime. But don't dare tell them about their mistakes. They're very thin-skinned. Plus they have limited mental capacity due to all the inbreeding. Seems like everyone knows each other -- they either are married, were married, might get married, or they are brothers in law, cousins, sisters, uncles, roommates, next door neighbors, or have some other connection. Most of them were from the old Harry's Farmers Market and were basically in the right place at the right time. Combine a stunning lack of common sense with incompetence, an overwhelming attitude of entitlement and an air of superiority. Y'all come back soon!

Data unification was one of the worst ideas in the long sad history of bad ideas. Next they'll be combining departments like they are in other regions.

Yupers, that data unification has really been a hot mess from the start! Zero direction or help when it started. What the f*** do the lazy bums at regional get paid for!!?? why dont they cut back on useless coordinators and add more TMs on the front line? thats where the sales are made. And those flash sales are useless! Who thought of that bullshit as a legitimate way to increase sales?!

How about the fact that Seafood now has to order product, maintain, pack out, rotate and warehouse for Grocery without getting sales? Who thought this was a good idea? If seafood couldn't maintain its own displays we'd be held accountable. Ridiculous.

The only way you can be in management is if you have absolutely zero ethics. They weed everyone out who has even the least amount of empathy.

I think it's safe to say that the entire company is run by sociopath losers that have been systematically put in place by the obligatory "good old boy" network. Get out while you can. Run to the hills.

This was a problem in the Midwest too. I worked at a store in Evanston where my team leader was lazy and illiterate and operated with a smoke and mirrors concept. She had the hots for the STL of the store and followed him around like a puppy dog. Meanwhile her husband who also worked in the store was banging or trying to bang every chick in the place. The astl was a mentally ill psychopath stoner who wanted to be everyone's hero on this island of misfit toys. Store was a bunch of losers who wouldn't make it anywhere else. With the exception of a couple of normal hard working people this place was a joke. I became enemy number one because I wanted to work and strategically run my department and when I questioned why we spent the day getting coffee, socializing, picking on others I was labeled a problem person. It was like high school. The stl pretended to help and be concerned but I think he was just trying to get out. I would go to the tmss and she would bad mouth the astl and my tl to me and then later go to Starbucks with them. It was ridiculous. I feel bad for the hardworking people losing their jobs. But I really hope the people at this store get fired.

John and Walter you gave up on the company you started with such good intentions. Walter said at 2012 Vision Day he wanted to "get back to the roots" Better dig some more and take back your company!

NE REGION is one of the tougher regions because of those two! They forgot where they came from....go back to the store and work for nothing with a terrible health plan. Why did all the good people leave and go to Mrs. Greens ladies?

Eh they are both kinda nice when they want to be, but certainly have the potential to turn on a dime and chew you out.

the ne is a joke, as is what WFM has become. old news i know. i think this whole thing wouldn't sting as bad if they would just ditch the core values, im ashamed i was ever duped to think it was more than just a business. at the end of the day is all bullshit; smoke and mirrors, all politics like any corporation. just show up and give it your bare minimum and collect a check.
