Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Furloughs = Cost Savings, Cost Savings = Executive Bonuses

But hey, they forgot to tell you that Executive Bonuses this year will be funded with money they save by not paying us. A fine robbery indeed. This makes 19th century worker exploitation look like a joke. I am not whining, I just hate when I see things that are not just. If they were to do something that makes sense, even if it's painful, something creative or something that will help the company, I'd say OK, let's put up with it. But this is not the first time that Honeywell execs are pulling off tricks like this, it's not only Aerospace, behavior like this is rampant throughout the company. As I said before, I do not mind drastic measures, even layoffs, if it makes sense but this time around nothing makes sense whatsoever (except for the guys who will reap even more millions for their already swollen bank accounts). It's disgusting.

Understandably the situation sucks but unless you have a smoking gun memo to back up your accusations, you start to suck.

Pitting one group against another does nothing but piss everyone off.

Take a closer look at the RIF pool and you will see that those same Executives are in it. They also have been recent recipients of the packages too.

Back in August it happened at the managerial level.

Workers are more than cost. They are laying off the same people that made them all of their money. Laying off people that make them money is not a wise decision. Laying off people that cost them more than the money they bring in to the company is a good idea. Which one is it?

I agree. I’ve been with Honeywell less than 8 years and I keep hearing how it used to be a great company. We keep using the Honeywell reputation as being a great company; however, it is no longer a great company. It exploits its salary employees by asking them to work at least 44 hours a week to meet what they call Engineering Efficiency Index or Engineering Effort Index. Anyone who works below a certain number of hours are punished in their yearly review by now giving them the pay rise they deserve. They are pushing us to sit in our butts and charge, charge, and charge government program so they can make profit regardless of results. I knew an engineer who was bright, efficient, and superior in his performance. He worked 40 hours a week and accomplish more than his peers who inflate their time to 44+ hours. During his review, he was not given the raise he deserves and instead, the people who work more hours were rewarded – regardless of results. This time around they will not strategically Furlough exempt salary employees. Honeywell knows that they make profit by having them just charge, charge, charge, regardless if they can’t do their job because 60% of their support infrastructure is furlough. Honeywell needs the federal government to look into their shady practices. This Honeywell is a bubble that will implode.
