Not all of our product lines are hemorrhaging money right now. Under performing lines and mismanagement have caused blanket layoffs affecting efficient and revenue producing business units as well, resulting in employees working more than they had previously for less money, with a sales volume that is no less than it was before the down turn..The cuts will be applied uniformly regardless.

They should have a fire sale on the units that cant keep their heads above the water. No reason to let them drag the entire company into bankruptcy.

Why should I take a 10 percent pay cut like someone suggested here. I might be salary but our product line is great and we hustle to sell it. I shouldn't have to take a hit just because other parts of our business are failing.

So why should someone who works in a profitable group of a profitable product line take a pay cut to pay for some other part of the company that doesn't make money? Weatherford likes to do everything everywhere, but it sounds like they're starting to make basic business decisions and cut off the dead weight. I'm sorry if your location closes, but if it doesn't make money there's no point in keeping it.

Houma is not closing, they are most likely getting the VariForm press line and currently in the process of assembling a $400k test press. They may receive a restructure or possibly lose some productline production, but certainly not closing.

Before they close anymore locations, here are a couple of suggestions that maybe somebody will see. All managers should give up bonus ' s. Salaried employees should take a 10 percent pay cut. Hourly employees 32 hour work week. No more p card purchases no more expense reports and all company vehicle should be parked on week-ends. That one would save a ton of money honestly if you don't have a personal vehicle why should your company provide one for you too use for personal use which is all they are being used for right now. And managers make plenty money and will live just fine without an bonuses. I'm sure I'm gonna gel slammed for this one by management

Houma isn't closing. A definite change/restructuring is coming, though. There will be another across the board layoff company-wide, we all know that. So, yes, it is time to spruce up those resumes and start looking.

If any off this is ture what can anyone do they would have to give you a notice before it closed and you would get unemployment. So if you location shuts down and it is true good luck to you all. I just stopped worrying about it.

You do realize that everyone who replies is anonymous so there's no way to know if someone is OP or a troll? Or if this whole thread was written by the same person?

If your location is going to be shut down, hearing about it a few days in advance won't fix anything. If you're worried it will close, update your resume and find some recruiters.
