Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

Wanna know what is ruining this company?

It's the lack of nepotism. We have been hiring complete strangers over the years and it has damaged the company. Who are these people anyway ? More importantly, who are they related to in the company ? Nobody, that's who....and that is scary. Atleast with blood relatives we knew who was who. Even if a dude was under qualified for the job, atleast you could say "hey that's my brother in law, or yeah that's my cousin". Everytime I see some douchebag stranger working here who feels entitled to work here just cause they are actually experienced at the job, or have some fancy degree......it pisses me off......just thinking about how that could be another one of my blood relatives working here instead. It is really no surprise that BHI has headed in the wrong direction to where we are now.

Nepotism and kiss asses are everywhere. Just check to see who was layoff. Jobs in other parts of the country and abroad should be offered to most experienced employees.

Yes Such a sad deal. Many people have lost many things due to the energy crisis.

I will totally disagree on the blood nepotism bullshit theory. That is a failure and proven to be biased.

On the other hand! Baker Hughes Is a dying Company. It has made so many mistakes! By hiring the wrong people to run the business.

The results speak for them selves. All people regardless of where or what Country there from are gone.

Baker Hughes is DEAD!

I don't think that what you wrote matters because the oil industry will not began to recover until 2020 and by then new technology will bring a lot of new changes. Plus scientists are working on finding alternative energy sources.

I'm against some points in your post like who works should be blood relative & cousin.. Remember that BHI is being run in different countries and has huge contracts with foreign oil companies so these nationalities are have the experience to deal with foreign oil companies. However BHI did very big mistake by letting these nationalities, in the management level, to control the hiring process & evaluation. The result was making mafias. For example, 90% of middle east management are egyptions. The result was laying off US citizens work on the middle east & middle east citizens too while Egyptions were out of laying off rounds. And based on each region you can measure in the same way.
