Thread regarding Follett layoffs

@Nader

Making employees feel appreciated --- total fail. Slashing my benefits and then providing cider and donuts doesn't work. Hiring more VPs, and Senior VPs etc. doesn't get the work done, It just gets us more stupid company wide rules that make no sense in our particular situation. I am so sick of the company saying they value their employees while proving they don't by their actions.

Since the cuts, too much work and too few employees. Except at the director/VP level at HO.

You may be right that Nader 'gets it', but it won't do any good if he doesn't have the power to do anything about it. Bottom line is that Follett family is concerned about the amount of money flowing into their pockets. They have demonstrated that if there is not enough profit to support that flow, they will cut costs to make up the difference. And the costs that they cut are employee related. Every day I am confronted with the attitude of 'get it done quick and dirty and move on to the next thing'. Quality is no longer important. That is a shame. I used to be proud of what I did.

Nader gets it. Give him some time. He is part of the solution but not a miracle worker.

I don't believe Nader was responsible for the donuts or the benefit cuts. He seems to be the only executive there that cares.

I provided constructive feedback - you can't balance steep benefit cuts with cider and donuts. If you don't want to hear the feedback, then don't bother asking. Just put your fingers in your ears, hum loudly and pretend everything is fine. Seems to be the Follett way.

If you are trust sick of the company but you keep coming to work--then what does that say about your ability to find another job. Grow up and stop whining like a child.

I believe the winds of change are happening. More senior VP's and higher going to pursue other opportunities!

I've lived in fear for several years. Understand completely. No matter what you do, you're beneath them, always a lesser being
