I work at Honeywell and the ABC15 story is riddled with inaccuracies. Someone fed the reporter information that couldn't be further from the truth. The layoffs will impact 1-2% of the company's US workforce, not just local Phoenix employees. Employees from across the US and Puerto Rico are included in the reduction. Also the whistleblowers comments about 10,000 employees being furloughed in the Valley is completely wrong. The furlough impacts the businesses global workforce, not just those in the Valley, so a much smaller number. Unfortunate news yes, but not nearly as big a numbers as portrayed in the ABC15 story.
Why does the AP wire not pick up this story? I would think this would be big news on finance/business news sites.
