Why would anyone talented in IT work at an oil company anyway? The money is in new tech, not the flawed environment of chevron. The behaviors, culture and environment lend to group think, fear, big talk and little progress. there is no sense of urgency or pride only fear and complacency

When I am winey, I prefer a good Bordeaux.
ExxonMobil's IT group sucks too. As does Shell's, Marathon's and BP. In fact, I've never known any group of employees at any place that I've worked who cared much for their IT dept. Just a little tidbit for you guys from 35 years in the O & G business. Forget I.T. It wasn't that long ago they didn't call them "IT" and before that it didn't even exist. It's not doing the rest of you guys any good to worry about it, though.
Chevron is doomed....pray that ExxonMobil buys what's left.
Shutdown everything but the field offices.
There is a new office being built in Midland. Might be about five people left to move in there in 2016.
Send all the management and IT to Manila (east side of the train tracks).
Close that crappie Training Center in Midland to, it's a joke and waste of money.
Close the Midland office. No need for that.
Send all the management and IT to Manila.
I agree. The IT people fan the fears for job security. "The cloud is dangerous." Most BUs have more IT hacks than any other skill.
Should outsource all management
I agree too.
The company would be better off if they outsourced all IT. Our IT sucks compared to other companies.
