Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

To HR, If there is anyone trolling the site these days

I would like to know if there is any kind of trainings/instructions being provided to upper management, specially directors. In light of all the recent information surfacing on how dir have been lacking communication skills when interacting with their juniors, IMO it is imperative that HR make sure that the message gets through these thick/sick headed dirs. I still see them communicating unprofessionally. Personally, this is unacceptable and makes the work environment even more tense than it needs to be. As we all are very well aware morale has been low recently and getting anything done that requires cross functional team members attention is a huge challenge. Having the idiotic lacking communication skill dir speak condescendingly and unprofessionally is really not helping the dedicated (as much as possible) folks to do their jobs.... HR please arrange some sort of communication related mandatory class for these buffoons (in all divisions and organizations) before they drive the rest of us out of the company...

I am in a different group and I agree interpersonal skills at Qualcomm are lacking. Bullying is considered acceptable behavior.

I also second this. The lack of professionalism from my former director is astonishing. What's even more astonishing is that she acts this way in front of her own director and he lets her get away with it! He sits there and cowers in his chair while she insults, berates, and literally throws papers across the table at someone that reports to him! And he does not stick up for his own report! The other person that was in the meeting, was so disgusted, they got up, threw their hands up and left the room. I've sat in my office and listened to her do the same thing to him (her boss) and he just walks away. Did a 3rd party review on her and wrote all of the stuff she does, what does her boss do? Comes to me and says "thanks for being honest, but this is going to make it really hard for me to review her." Total BS!! And HR does nothing. My last day was yesterday, and I'm relieved I do not have to put up with, 1 - an out-of-control director, and 2, - a pussy-whipped director.
