Right place at right time and crack the whip can be applied to pretty much anyone successful. Gates and Jobs included. There is more to it than just that.
"...who pretty much built the whole android business that resulted ..." that is such utter bullshit. It was built on the backs of the slave labor there, plain and simple. He just gets the credit for being in the right place at the right time and snapping the whip.

Well, its consistent with QCT's use and throw culture. Everyone who has burst their backside for the company finally gets an unsung departure without as much as an email in some cases. Started with head of APSS, then head of Linux (who pretty much built the whole android business that resulted > 1 billion android handsets with snapdragon sold), now with MR. Unless you are white and your last name is Jacobs (or someone who is their "chosen" one), you are not even deserving of a graceful farewell.
