2rqv, it also depends on if your role is something Chevron needs. Also, during the ROM process, most of those currently within roles have to re-apply for their jobs, and compete against others that also want the job. Just because you are in the position right now, doesn't mean it is necessarily safe. Best of luck though.

So would a low 20 in a role designed for 19-21 like be OK or be on the cutting block?
Rankings have very little value here. BCG mostly looked at the actual role being filled, and tried to get the cheapest most experienced person to fill it. If that happens to be you, then congrats. This is a cost reduction, expensive employees were cut deeply on the first ROM. I know of 2-, 2, and 2+ rankings that were laid off, there was no relationship other than they were all higher PSG's for roles that didn't require such high PSG's.
@cvd nailed it here
Ranking means nothing. The settlement papers would say generally a number of factors are taken into account by the company, including rankings. So, you can still be let go if you have been consistently 2 and 2+. We are not talking about 1's here, as those who get 1's have been pre-selected to be safe forever.
It's best to plan ahead to take care of yourself and your family, and don't count on the rankings. Good luck.
To OP. Yes,the 2015 rankings will be used. Management already has them and is using it. Of course politics and friends & family also comes into play. Most north America BUs and opcos already have alternatives of what new pegs look like. With oil at 35 and gas below 2,it's going to be a gouging in q1.
Friends and Faimily just said it correctly. Every policy and procedure this company has, are only words written on paper. All there just to meet the requirements of the law. When it comes to the PDC, ePMP, salary grade ranking, etc., it all works out the way your management wants. The policies and procedures are only smoke and mirrors to defend themselves from lawsuits. I've been here long enough to know this.
It will be adjusted to fit the outcome they desire.
