During the first ROM, we were instructed that we could volunteer to be left standing (fancy way of saying laid off). It is up to the employee to initiate that discussion with their supervisor(s). They will not ask you to consider volunteering, as it could be perceived as age discrimination. By all means, take the severance package and retire, if you are at that point. Congrats on a long career!

For the 63 yr old congratulations on your career. My husband has 37 years and has let his supervisor and management know he was ready to retire... He was told he does have to post for 1 job at least to be considered for a package.

O&M personnel are not in-scope.

Second, "base oil" is a refined product and not subject to the previous crude export ban. It was already sold around the world.

Mr. 63 year old, congratulations to you for your long career. I'm sure many Chevron employees would like to have the same long run you had when they reach your age. I read somewhere on this Layoff website that Chevron management (including your boss) WILL NOT ask you if you'd like to volunteer to retire. Somehow, that statement must come from "You" to them. It must exist some stupid legal thing that our Chevron lawyers thought up to avoid the slightest impropriety in that they "forced" you to resign. If you would like to volunteer to be ROM'ed, have that conversation with your supervisor. Let him or her know it's "your" wish to be included in the folks who are left standing. Do not post for any jobs nor complete any Career Development Plan (CDP) when going through your initial 2016 ePMP in January.
