I knew before I opened this thread that it was going to be a link to SpaceX. Those guys rock....and only U.S. citizens thanks to ITAR. Shows who the real innovators are.
Believe it or not, way back, QCOM was like that, in spirit. But I'm talking 15+ years ago. Since then, its been a slow, steady slide of institutionalized blandness, at a rate of about 1 dB/year. Rather than blame QCOM for this, just recognize that its the fate of most large companies (save places like Apple and other more enlightened businesses).
Stop bitching that QCOM lost it and bemoaning about what is it going to take to get it back. I got news for you - they simply don't care. Its not that individually if you asked SM that he would say it doest matter, its just that as an organization, for the set of all the people that have been put together into management roles and the decisions they have taken, well it just doesn't matter to them as a whole (if it did, it wouldn't be like it is).
So, if this really is important to you, an I would suggest that it should be, get up and go an find a better environment. If not, then just "continue to live a life of quiet desperation". Its up to you, not QC.
