Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Now that the losers, deadwood and useless people are gone.....

.....are the excellent, top 1% of society, Chevron employees who are left going to get us back to being the best? Like the fantastic job we've done on Gorgon and Wheatstone? Or how about AMBU, that's a proud example of excellence? I was thinking we could do another Bigfoot and show the world how to really excel at MCPs? How about we roll out the GOM model of the Chevron Way - have all the local, bigoted staff treat outsiders and those not from LA like lepers - that should get us back to being the most admired, right? Or Pro+, how about we show how well the best did on that - $40MM in engineering and then cancelled? We could work on our kill rate and get the number of work place fatalities we achieve back to single figures for the year again. After all, that should make us the most admired - right? Angola, China gas project, Rosebank? We have so many great examples to make posters of how great the Chevron staff really are now that the dead wood is gone. What do my fellow 1% think?

Pro Plus was closer to $20MM in spend but the point is well taken, with nothing to show for it except plans to spend a few Billion.

I think I detect some sarcasm in the original post.

Sad bitter troll you are. I imagine you are one of those consistent 2-/3 performers thinking the deck is stacked against you with mommy and daddy constantly telling you you are a 1 in their heart.

well gas is 1.59 regular unleaded where I live in texas,,,not everyone in the world is hurting, but I did lose my job building drilling rigs in 1987 from the first oil glut.12 years down the drain.but Im getting a whopping 139.00 a month annuity that just started, the whole dresser plant closed down about 250 people including the plant manager. its hard I know it,too lose a job and your wife has ms..she died 2 years later.so I raised my 4 boys ages 4 7 9 11 by myself. no help from social security even though I was bring home 288.00 every 2 weeks from my new job at chevron.the said she didn't work enough to get 13 points..she had 12,,anyway she was paralyzed in the nursing home lost all mobility and died of pneumonia.i guess our government thinks you should still be able to hold a job even if you have feeding tubes in you...no money for your kids they said,,even though making 5.00hr and on food stamps at chevron,,i still stood tall and we made it with gods strength,to those losing their jobs now ,stand tall and be strong,,you might be called back or something better might come along..its not your fault your losing your job just be strong.anyway the boys turned out great and now I have 28 years at chevron, but better of being an illegal person, you will get free everything,,
