Great try at a letter. Please know, from someone who's been there, Follett will pay lawyers a ton of money to fight any action and to bottle things up. Unless you've retained counsel who has a real plan in place, that kind of letter does nothing for you (outside of the therapeutic benefits from penning it). One reason Follett will pay counsel so much to fight things is your lawyer will not work for free. Your lawyer has to see how they'll win this. Follett has very deep pockets. It's a sound investment to pay expensive lawyers to delay and obfuscate rather than bargain or litigate.

Folks, Follett is a terrible employer. Whatever sacrifices you've made and whatever sacrifice you're going to make will not change the result. Eventually, they'll come for your job, your salary, your benefits, too. They'll devastate you through abuse and intimidation to get their way. They're terrible people who are capable of terrible things.

Re: Plan to displace United States’ workers with foreign workers.

Attention SS,

We are aware of your intent to replace some of the United States’ and permanent resident workers with foreign workers. We do not agree with this decision. We will not sign a severance agreement unless it is reviewed by counsel and we will not be quiet. We will notify the world that you chose deeper pockets over protecting our jobs.

I am writing this letter on behalf of myself and my co-workers. If any adverse employment action is taken against me for sending this letter then I will file a claim with the National Labor Relations Board based on my “concerted activity.”

Thank you for reconsidering your decision and doing what is right for this country and for our American families.

Sincerely,

There are quite a few off the shelf solutions out there capable of doing the job perfectly. It seems to be hubris that demands we waste millions on developing our own systems only to dump the half finished product and start over. Keep charging that windmill, folks, eventually you'll get the dragon...

Millions upon millions wasted. They had a mobile one in beta and working before this, but no, SS wanted to start over.
