Hopefully this helps the shares of IBM I'm holding.
For 100 years IBM made business machines to keep American businesses competitive with other corporations worldwide. Today, the company that has taken its place is ... Google! They make docs, slides, sheets, hangouts(telecom), terminals(chromebooks, android phones), they rent cloud(just like IBM mainframe sales always did - no customer actually "owned" anything), and they are pushing the limits in I/O devices such as voice, 3D goggles, etc., just like IBM.
IBM was taken over by narrow thinkers who decided that manufacturing was a loser's game and they decided to pretend the company was a consulting house. No need to make RAM! No need to make disk drives! No need to make laptops! Just quit it (Nike Slogan, IBM-style) !!
