Make mine a Form 1099-T&A.

In my case Chevron better send me a Form 1098-B. I intend to use the CIP bonus money to buy Beer.

That's a good question now that it's asked. I'm not sure, but I'd guess it won't be a W2, as that's for active employment wage disclosure. The Form 1099 will be used. The 1099 is followed by a "dash" and a letter suffix. The letter denotes the taxable income type; such as "I" for interest income, "R" for retirement income (annuities). The 1099 in the case of bonus income may have the letter "M" for miscellaneous income. I'm sure the IRS website has all the codes used for use with the Form 1099.

Let's say Chevron pays the laid off folks bonuses (don't laugh lol), would they then issue a W-2 for 2016 or would it be like a 1099-MISC or something?

My damn W2 hasn't arrived yet. Today is Saturday and the last day for mail delivery in January. Chevron is in default of the Federal requirement to get all W2 forms out before the end of January. HR will be getting an ear full from me early on Monday.

The Vanguard 1099's can be printed from your account online. My Chevron W2 arrived today, Jan 30. These sob's just love waiting until the last minute to complete important tasks.

Doesn't matter because you Vanguard 1099s are guaranteed to come later.

Today is Jan 28. The mail came in without my W2 form. There's only 2 days left in the month, Chevron. I suppose these assholes will deliberately have it delivered on Saturday, Jan 30. Pure assholes all the way.

I fear getting my W2 for 2015. It will have my salary, severance, comp and unused vacation pay. A record payout for me too. But it will also remind me of all the taxes I had withheld, and which will likely end up not netting me a refund once I complete my 1040 tax return this year.

My W2 arrived yesterday. Record year of payout from Chevron, considering they paid me for all of my comp days, and unused vacation days, while getting laid off.

Retirees cannot access the section online got downloading their Form W2. We'll just have to wait for it in the mail.

Just another point of reference, for what it's worth. The W2s were online on 1/7/16 for me (based on my download date) and I received the paper copy on 1/21/16.

Don't ascribe malice for incompetence.

Glad to hear someone got their W2 today. I haven't received mine in the mail today. Hopefully tomorrow. Law says no later than Jan 31. Chevron likes to push the envelope and keep its employees on edge, just like the impending layoffs.

Good luck calling the HR service center - they are as bad as the rest of this company. Spent 45 mins on hold and still nothing. Typical Chevron.

By law all employers have to provide a W-2 to their employees (incl. former employees) by January 31st.

I would wait another week and if you have not received it call HR and request it to be mailed to you.
