I agree! get rid of more mid level management & team leads and the company will be better off. I was astonished when my team lead asked me for a kick-back in order to keep my job. When I didn't, he cut me. Let them keep getting rid of all their talent to keep this corrupt mid level management and watch the mom-&-pop small companies really take off as they acquire all this talent.

there are good team leads and mid-managers out there, that's a fact.. also a fact is there are a lot of leads and mid-managers that got there position by getting under the right desk. I know a few leads that are dumber than a box of rocks and in no way should hold that position, but they do..

Come to Singapore Technology. The Team Lead's job is to approve leaves and beg the engineers to finish a design because they simply do not know how to do it.

To the troll who posted about field monkeys. Really you must be a service leader sucking like a HT 400 trying to hold on to your job. That was provided by field personal.

Grow up troll

Halliburton 101.

More redunded paper work .... Fill in the blank. Send in have mid management check off. File. . Layoff field personal. So you now have Three mid management for every field personal. And five upper management for mid management.

Sorry Mr. PowerPoint. Field personal bring in the money

Always did. Always will.

Well in my PSL (field engineering specifically) we've added leads that are supposed to be technical gurus and face to face with the customer quite often. Our lead is neither technically knowledgeable nor socially gifted. The lead just delegates work to our group on both fronts and does menial tasks like follow who has completed journey management. We have had several people quit solely based on the leads micromanaging ways. It's very frustrating because there were people more suited to the job that got turned down for reasons unknown. In my case it isn't whining because someone got left out on an opportunity, I make more money than my lead and my manager. It's just frustrating to see another layer of paperwork and extra micromanagers added to the mix. Where we had a structure with 2 "managers" that were pretty hands off and let the group take care of itself, we now have 6. I don't know how they improve anything. Our group would be more efficient without the extra management, and I've worked through both structures. With less managers we got more done and had better overall morale as a group.

All the managers I know worked their way up to the position. Quit whining like a baby because you were too lazy to work for advancement of picked a dead end position. You are exactly where you put yourself.

While I agree there are alot of management levels that could be eliminated there sure are a lot of butt hurt people on here that are just pissed that they never made it to management level. My guess is most of you complaining are real pricks which explains your despising anyone who's a manager that you think doesn't deserve it. The reality of it is there still a lot of guys in this company they were fieldhands and worked their way up to management. as a matter fact I would bet it's probably 30% or so of management. So instead of getting your panties in a twist why don't you talk to them and find out what you can do to further your career instead of degrading the people that pay your freaking salary

Couldn't stop laughing at MadHatter comments really you think we couldn't function with a reduction of team leaders and middle managers seriously their not gods just glorified workers who happen to say YES more often than your average employee and would not hesitate to take a bullet for their manager. I've still to come across a sensible one their actions all remind me of laurel and hardy. layoff the lot of them waste of space and money

So, you expect your Service Manager or District Manager to direct your daily tasks and job duties at the shop and field for ALL? That's realistic

Go to College for four years and then you can be apart of the club. Degrees matter, undergrad is the new high school.
