Thread regarding Devon Energy Corp. layoffs

Remote login check on layoffs

I used to work from home ( in the evenings ), quite a bit and the day before I got the HR meeting request ( SHOCKING, unlike many of you, who have had time to brace yourself ), I couldn't log in from home and opened a helpdesk ticket, like a FOOL. So, this can be one of the things people can check and at least come prepared to work.

On the criteria on layoffs - I 'exceeded expectations' on my reviews and to this day, not sure how I got picked in 2015. Not trying to add to anyone's stress and hope this helps!

GOD is in control!

@2irj - So, it's all crap when it's not you :). Look friend, I was just posting facts and everything I said about my experience is true.

You can continue to believe what you want to believe, until the truth encounters you. Take care!

More crap, all the Devon hands know the time frame and we get more information everyday as the process moves forward, Devon has and is doing the best job possible in this situation. Most companies have already done this twice, Devon values their employees so much they have put this off as long as they possibly could, they would like to keep us all but as a business it just can't be done. Oil and gas will rise again and their will be huge opportunities when it does.

@pyv - hope you're fine...my prayers. The only thing that kept me from being bitter and unforgiving on my layoff aka reorgs :), is the Bible. As hard as it was to process what had happened over a 5-10 minute HR meeting, on a very frantic and busy day, I can tell you all that scripture kept me sane and looking back, can't thank enough...the Amazing Grace of a loving Savior :)
