70,000 oil related jobs were lost in Texas last year.

Peak employment was about 66 K. It's currently just less than 50 K. Some of the difference is folks who quit, most of it is folks who were given the opportunity to pursue employment elsewhere.
I've heard 300,000 and climbing. I'm not sure it that is global or just U.S. One article says that's Texas alone but I think it's in error. That's not counting all of the jobs that were lost as an indirect result of the oil prices. Like companies that provide materials, they have to have taken a hit as well.
Anybody got a figure?
