I couldn't agree more. In this country, money speaks louder than "Justice" or "fairness" and the people who lose at the end of the day are taxpayers and students, who are not savvy enough to see through EDMC's rhetoric. This is a sad and criminal case indeed, but EDMC buys their way out of every criminal case, and until someone takes them down, they will continue to do so. They are still selling education to Pell-grant eligible uneducated students, promising them the world on "easy street", and raking in millions in taxpayer money. They settled with the US Department of Justice on a case that rocked their very foundation and threatened to shut them down for millions of dollars. Funny thing is, how do they have the money to settle such a large penalty in this case? Who paid for their illegal, fraudulent way of luring unsuspecting Pell grant eligible students? We, the tax payers did. 90% of those students' expenses were paid by the tax payers.

EDMC will keep on lying and raking in millions until someone in the US government takes them down for good. In the US, where money can buy large corporations an "out" to their criminal activity, it is unlikely that anyone will be able to shut them down. The only way of stopping their criminal activity is to stop their eligibility to receive Federal Financial Aid monies. This was actually accomplished in the Corinthian College case, but so far, EDMC has been able to buy their way out of trouble.

All I can do is hope that whoever is the president for the 2016 government can shut the " for profit" colleges down. I have personal experience with EDMC, and unfortunately I have seen on a daily basis how this huge corporation has managed to rake in millions and stay "just under the radar" . It will take a smart, savvy US government agency to end the corruption. The US Dept of Justice stepped in on the last round of charges, and EDMC paid their way out once again.

That is a damning article. The Senator only stated what everyone else says here everyday. Many get on here and say that every post is "sour grapes" due to some animosity harbored against EDMC (although it could simply be a way to try and help, vent, or warn others). To those naysayers, where does this senators "sour grapes" come from? The truth is the truth and EDMC has the money to go on while also having the financial freedom to bully employees in some way.
