Well the trickle of this rumor is now a gusher. This has been repeated by several managers that know. This buisness model will be the new normal. No going back. No BU will "close" but places like AMBU, Canada and GOM will have less than 50 employees at the location. All shale, except for 7 rigs in Permian (for 2 quarters) will be NOJV'D. This will leave AMBU and Canada with 25 employees at most by next year.
The only planned working D&C budget is Midcon. They will ramp up the NOJV rigs from 14 to 18 and Chevron rigs will go from 7 to 3.
3 year plan is base buisness in tight oil and gas to be 85% NOJV'D and 15% company run rigs.
The grouping will be Deepwater/GOM/DWEP. AMBU, Midcon, Canada. But will all be consulates as CNAEP!
SJVBU is on the secret block to be sold. It won't get the price wanted until prices turn. You will see this very clearly as the reorg moves forward.
CBRES will be busy divesting buildings and leases. All of this will come out in an email and be explained as getting efficiencies in line, stream lining org charts and Chevron living in its means.
Turn off the lights. The party is over. If your skill set is only oil and gas you better start a grass cutting buisness, bartending, or escorting. There are no jobs out there.
