Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

ITC Still Screwed up

So when are they going to run off CIO Bill and most of those over paid GM's. I do not have faith in any of them anymore. They have made one bad decision after another with Chevron's money. Louie's wasted money on the Data cneter that is so over built. Does Watson have any idea how bad this is?

I heard in a meeting Bill made FAT jokes about an employee. Not cool Bill. Just another manager that breaks the Chevron Way and nothing happens. If I would have made the comment I would have at least got a record of discussion if not fired. i am very dissappointed in the intergraty of the Chevron leadership in dealing with their own.

More than 4,000 more cuts to Chevron in 2016. Only vital positions will be saved. That means ITC is SOOL.

It's not always about number of people. Sometimes it's about quality of talent. In some areas one high quality talent with a high IQ can do the work of 10 offshore, untrained, unskilled and low IQ employees.

I am not saying that offshore workers are low IQ. I'm saying if you're going offshore, at least pay top dollar for that region to get the best talent there. And don't hire stupid people for jobs that require high IQs.

Disagree that they are as lean as they can be... If you were able to cut up to half of the ppl who have been at the same psg for 5 yrs + and who have averaged a 2 over that time period THEN you would be lean. Same is true across every BU and function within Chevron.

The parts of ITC that have been involved in the past two ROMS are as lean as they can get. ITC has been belt tightening since 2010 while every other OPCO has been flipping their meat in their offices. We're not in this situation because megabytes cost too much.

I beg to differ with you on the data center being overbuilt. For starters we have to contend with the reality that our major office hubs are located in hurricane alley and earthquake central. The data center in BFE mitigates some of these risks while enabling future growth. But what about cloud? Glad you asked. The Cloud movement will see major growth, but the reality is that any high performance or sensitive environment will not be going there.

TSS needs to remove the people who skated by in the first ROM when performance wasn't looked at. There are a number of them who were in closed positions when Alpha moved through ITSD. Other than that ITC might be able to lose another 10% without too much of an issue but only if sacred cows like "cyber security acceleration" and long term trusted contractors (eg ExpressWorks) are looked at more thoroughly.

Just maybe nothing may stick to him, but don't so far to say nothing will ever "happen" to him. We are all expendible, my friend.

CIO Bill is 'teflon' so nothing will EVER happen to him.
