Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

Asking for help

EDMC/argosy made a big deal about contacting the AG and agreeing to steps to clean up their practices and move forward in a positive student experience.

Apparently that was just more of the same EDMC BS!

Already the emphasis has shifted from persistence back to a strictly recruiting focus, at all costs.

Someone needs to get in touch with the AG's office and let them know that Argosy is back to the same old!

Florida is not doing better. B.S. quit spreading rumors. The CFPB and DOE are about to make their next move and you know the investors are about to bail. EDMC was just a way to scam money from the feds and general public. Game Over!

I can report that two south Florida AI campuses are on the upswing. Both colleges are hovering between 1300 and 1500 students. The job market continues to be strong and staff/faculty are determined to weather through this while supporting our student's continued successes. Fort Lauderdale is celebrating its 50th anniversary soon and recently completed a remodel of the entire campus. With lawsuits ended and a renewed dedication by administration to overcome pass failures brought on by Goldman Sachs control of the company, many are hopeful the future will be better. A return to student centered education has been the buzz words from admin and without it there is doubt the future will survive. Added to this is the reality that Millennilals are aging out of college and entering the workplace, and Gen Z is a much smaller pool of potential students with tough competition from other local schools including community colleges that amerce cheaper. EDMC grew too fast and delivered outrageous returns to its investor that nearly destroyed the company. Many programs were untested and opened in new markets that weren't buying. And cost cutting eliminate much of what made the company unique in the marketplace. Closing smaller campuses was inevitable. If EDMC and AI don't continue to adapt and follow new ethical regulations then there may not be a need for this website.

It's the same here at AI. Nothing has changed. Get as many students to sign up not matter what. They are not even trying to hide it anymore. Probably a sign of ,get as much money as you can before they shut us down.
