A Somalian registered company have bid for WFD. 300 USD paid over 20 years and WFD take the hit on thier 8 billion debt. The DOJ are reviewing this as its suspected to be pirates. How do WFD attract such high level buyers?? V

The only way Venezuela can raise cash to buy Weatherford is to borrow it from China.
You realize the Chinese only want the scrap metal. They don't need or want the employees. Pray for the Venezuelans because they might keep some of the personnel. Bonus is you don't need to buy new coveralls because they are already the right color.

I thought there was the possibility of a scam so I changed the last digit on my account number from a 7 to a 3 so my money is still there.
As it turns out the Nigerian bank who was interested in buying Weatherford did not exist and was a scam. Its now a two horserace between the Chinese and the Venezuelans.
Oh dear - I just checked my bank account and it has been emptied.
What can I do now? I have lost my life's savings to this Nigerian scamming guy and now looks like weatherford will lay me off. Greed got the better of me and I lost! I should have bet on the Chinese scrap dealer

I may have received a similar email to my company email address from a Nigerian ex Weatherford employee with a stinking rich uncle and after passing over my name and bank account details I am just waiting for a multi million USD deposit in my account so that I can help them make a formal bid.

I just got an email from a Nigerian bank telling me that if I could help them free up a frozen account of a deceased billionaire so that they can buy Weatherford, they would give me 15% of the stock! I think I'm in because Venezuela has no cash to buy Weatherford.
I work in finance and its been pretty much common knowledge over past week or so (for insiders) but its being kept under wraps to keep the share price and purchase price down until something is confirmed. If it were to be made public too early then the buyers will pull out.
Rumor is the Chinese scrap dealers have made a low ball offer and the Nigerians are still trying to raise the finance. Haven't heard anything about the Venezuelans........they don't look like they have the money right now

They want to have their own service company and expand to other opec nations to cut out the high prices of halliburton and schlumberger. They are offering a deal based on bartering oil production

How reliable is a Nigerian bank likely to be with such a low oil price and the country struggling to cover its budget? Not any good options here but if I have to choose between these two devils then It's the Chinese scrap dealers for me - probably best chance of keeping my job!
The Nigerians were here last week looking around our Texas bases and asking what we thought of the company and what we think of it as a place to work. That's was really weird to have those guys asking our employees these questions. If our bosses want to sell the company they need to be more discreet about it and not let everybody know to try and get a higher price. My preference is with the Chinese scrap dealers as they seemed more friendly.

Bull shit Wft will file bankruptcy and continue to operate. They have lots of options. Selling for scrap is not one of them. That would not even be enough to pay executive bonuses.
