Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

At this point, there really is no news which doesn't necessarily mean the company is better off.

At this point, there really is no news which doesn't necessarily mean the company is better off. EDMC has fired everyone they possibly can. I don't know what's happening at other campuses, but the AI Dallas campus is trying to sub-let large sections of the building they once occupied because there just aren't enough students. They've even told instructors to clean out their desks. Now faculty is operating out of boxes.

So, everyone's sitting on their hands and waiting for the next round of shut-downs. Closing down such a large institution is a long, difficult, and ultimately very sad process. Truly it was a complete and utter administrative failure from top to bottom and at every level.

To the person who wants the veteran adas let go, maybe you should think about why they are high paid. They came off the comp plan so they have served the company for a lot longer than you and have produced for a lot longer than you you have. Also if you're really doing that job for 40 K you need to develop some self esteem, that's a pathetic income for that job. Learn to negotiate your salary instead of spending your time being envious of others. Most likely you will get that opportunity very soon.

If they are crazy enough to return, let's bring back some of the good reps and managers who were fired not by cause, but because they spoke freely about the direction this company was taking.

Two main issues: First: Top high paid useless and greedy executives need to go. Starting with the board members.

Second: High paying reps on the floor need to go along with their loser managers who are insanely high paid babysitters.

Why pay 100K to someone who enrolls the same amount of students that someone making 40K can. Discriminatory practices has the school in a hole. Lets get rid of the highest paid reps today!

Case and point… This is what happens when you sell your soul to an investment company! Do you want to bail out the bankers this time?
