Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

This question is for the Floral team members

So, floral team members with as little of us that are left how are you feeling going into 2016 Valentines Day?

Are you feeling overworked taken advantage of even though your sales are and you have less floral workers to carry the load?

Would you say that the focus on the floral area of produce is pretty much ignored until it's Valentines and not much concern is put into our area through out the year?

Good luck everyone may we make it through.

@FSy7prm that is exactly how it is at my store. Literally it's just me, by myself, doing everything. I felt like I was drowning the week leading up to vday because it was physically impossible for me to rearrange and set up dept, process 10x as much product, handle the massive influx of special orders, get signage made, etc. On top of the usual day to day work that I also have to do by myself, which my fellow floral tms know is no joke. And of course it's about to be spring so I am booking an average of 2 weddings a week too.

Here's the real kicker: technically the position of "floral specialist" doesn't exist anymore, yet here I am running the department, doing all the weddings etc, and doing all the ordering. Guess what my title is? Produce team member.

Please no one remind me how much of a fool I am for letting them treat me this way.

Floral specialist that's a joke! No, what WF wants is an indentured slave running a floral area doing the same amount of work that would be weddings, arrangements, proms, unloading the truck, prepping cut flowers, culling/ doing the waste, changing the water, washing the buckets, receiving the plants, watering the plants doing the jobs that 2 to 4 team members use to do and not even giving you 40 hours and then the scheduling you at their whim! Oh and last but not least you must not forget to smile and treat the customer like they are a guest in your house!

So, if you no longer have a "floral specialist" in the MA Region who does weddings and orders flowers?

Also, If WF doesn't want to hire floral specialists or pay the ones that they do have a fair wage to do Weddings they need to stop doing weddings. Just get the produce workers to just drop the flowers in the buckets like Food Lion does and get some of those ugly dyed flowers.

Which regions still have floral specialists? In MA we don't have any.
