I recently posted a Yelp review of my personal experience as a faculty member at the the EDMC property, Western State University College of Law at Argosy. I have posted it below for you all to peruse. If you agree and feel so inclined, I would appreciate it if others could comment on the Yelp page so that other potential or current students can begin to learn about the fraudulent nature of this institution. To my dismay, there is nothing regarding the link to EDMC and it would be beneficial to all related entities to this school if the truth were associated with this terrible institution and parent corporation. Again, while SUO and AIO have many justified detractors it seems who are vocal with their outrage, Western State College of Law at Argosy is just as corrupt due to the overarching influence of EDMC. Please understand I am currently assisting students who were defrauded and am a protected whistleblower through several groups, including the Consumer Affairs Commission and the American Bar Association. However, I would appreciate any support in communicating further information to potential or current students through websites like this, Yelp, Twiiter, Facebook, etc. While I am unsure of the exact rules regarding posting a link, the page can be found through the selecting the first Google search result for "Western State Law Yelp". I am a former faculty member who was privileged to accept a position at another institution several years ago. Like many of my former colleagues, I saw the writing on the wall and got out when I could. EDMC owns this law school and it will likely go bankrupt, be sold, or close soon. It is a shame, because it used to be a solid school in the area, but has now transitioned to an institution of greed with a significant lack of integrity. Please, please, please stay away from this institution Any positive ratings that you have seen recently are not reflective of this institution and its current environment. The connections I still have at the school reflect a faculty in fear for their positions, a naive student body that is inundated with propaganda stating all is well, and a parent corporation that has been shown in federal court to have defrauded hundreds of thousands of students over decades. The admissions office seems to have taken its mission statement from the behavior of Enron and the financial aid office has become a den of thieves. The parent corporation is a penny stock, shares have been devalued to worth no more than a few cents, there is a mountain of lawsuits yet to be litigated, and the admissions representatives, financial aid office, and others associated with the institution have been corrupted, as their livelihoods depend upon them defrauding its student body. Any positive experiences that people have had regarding this school are either during the pre-EDMC era or are on behalf of naive students with little experience with the school who use Yelp to rate this institution five stars due to the fact that it has "nice study rooms" which is in itself a joke because the study rooms are sub-par in comparison to other law schools. I never thought I would see a seemingly formerly good school decades ago transition so quickly into a seemingly evil institution based on the fraudulent practices that its parent corporation, EDMC demands of the current staff. If there is any question as to the veracity of these statements, simply Google "EDMC" and "lawsuit" to uncover hundreds of millions of dollars in penalties, settlements, and other deals that EDMC has struck in order to continue to live another day defrauding students. Transfer if you are a student and avoid this law school at all costs.
