EXPATS in SJVBU

Has anyone notice the high amount of safe positions for EXPATS in SJVBU?

What happened to protecting job for the US payroll employees in the US?

@FYiKARt-2ray, you said it right! But I am afraid our management doesn't know how to think straight! Because they aren't very bright!

Unless key position requiring a political consideration or a difficult to find skill-set in host country absolutely no reason for expats in this climate.

Whether this is non-US in US, US in non-US makes no difference.

Yes we borrow more money and pay the expats 3 times the US nationals and lay off the US nationals. Chevron way at its very best!

That simply means chevron would rather spend 2 or 3 times the cost of keeping a US national simply to save an expat position. And that is because somebody likes somebody. There is no other basis for wasting that kind of money under such a serious cash crunch that is already triggering debt downgrades for Chevron.

What is high? Is it any number greater than 0?

You can't do anything about it. It is what it is. They happen to be in whatever the company defines as closed positions. Best to worry about what you can do for yourself, and not start pointing fingers.
