Thread regarding Follett layoffs

The Demise.....

Once the Follett Family stopped listening to the Field the decline started. I know for a fact that people in the field sent many ideas into our bloated home office to off-set our declining market share. But, were ignored by arrogant out-of-touch leaders. One such proposal was to give the publishers a percent back on used sales. Just think, if 10 years ago, publishers received royalties on a used book sale, do you think they would have pushed the bundle/package/three hole punch/ebook model as hard? The publishers implemented these models to destroy the wholesale market and they succeeded. Here's another example, four years ago, many colleges and universities understood the demographics of their future incoming students. They knew in 2015 -2016 that the enrollment would be down, Follett employees in the field were apart of these discussions and shared this knowledge with the Home Office. But, our dear leaders continued to raise budgets and expectations in a declining market based on their beliefs that consumer choice was the sole driver, not the reality of a student population decline. Follett continues to drive out those who have knowledge instead of embracing them....Wake up Litzsigners! Listen to Dick, Todd and Mark get a clue and correct this bullshit that Allison and Bloody Mary created! Bring back the old guard if you want to save this company!

Bundles were the beginning of the end for the textbook business as we knew it.
