Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Great Material Here

I did not know that Chevron had so many people with a talent for dry, cynical, sharp-witted, bitter and sarcastic humor. This board is better than the movie Office Space. I could use these postings as a script for a new movie. Keep it up. Every time I come to the Chevron postings, I always get a good laugh.

I don't think a comedy about a layoff would do very well. Maybe now that unemployment is a bit lower...

I do find good humor here, albeit some of it is just ignorant and uneducated level trolling. It is easy to tell who the actual CVX ex-employees are, and which ones were not, just by what they reference in their posts. And no, don't give millennials all the credit for the satire and wit. I'm PSG 25 (or, was) and still enjoy irony and witty responses.

Then @4tsr, why don't you chime in and say something to forward the conversation on this topic?

it is a small group who keep responding ... the same conversation being repeated over and over again

It's all me. Just trying to stay busy as a transition from Chevron welfare to government welfare.

@kxo, I would think the bitter and cynical comments on this site come from every demographic of Chevron employee, whether still with the company, laid off or retired volunteerily. Most of the comments are based on the perspective of each person sharing their comments. Of course, there are a few trolls, but beyond that, one can pick up in the true comments. After 25 years with Chevron, I was laid off for having a redundant position and was the higher paid employee, so I was cut for cost savings purposes, not for being unproductive. I understand why I was cut although not too happy about it. Life goes on.

Having just retired from a great 28 year career with Chevron myself, I have to wonder if the majority of cynical and bitter postings on this site are from younger, spoiled, useless millennial types who have no clue how to get work done and succeed in a large, multinational corporation.

Yes, Chevron is a real looney bin. Management here is a joke. The executives are the real owners of this business. They line their pockets at every turn. In the end, it's the poor employees that pay the price.
